On your first day, you will be taken to Sankri Village, situated at 6,455 ft above sea level. The weather can change quickly, so be prepared with comfortable clothing. Upon arrival, you can rest and explore the local markets. The town is known for its friendly atmosphere, and the sunset adds to its charm. You'll also encounter the famous Govind National Park of Uttarakhand here.
From Sankri Village, you will move towards Taluka, situated at 7,000 ft above sea level, a 12 km journey that takes about 1 hour. The path is surrounded by pinewood and walnut trees with beautiful natural streams. After reaching Taluka, you'll proceed to Pauni Garaat (8,200 ft), which takes approximately 6 hours. The route is scenic and peaceful, filling you with energy and joy.
On Day 3, you'll trek to Kalkattiyadhaar, situated at 9,000 ft. The 7 km trek will take around 6 hours. The area is serene and provides a spiritual experience, as Uttarakhand is known as Dev Bhumi. After reaching the top, you'll enjoy stunning views of the mountains and a clear sky with thousands of stars. This trek will give you a deep connection with nature.
The trek to Har ki Dun is the highlight of your journey. Har ki Dun is at 11,800 ft, and it takes around 9 hours to cover the 10 km distance. The trek offers a beautiful route with forests, wildlife, and a variety of flora and fauna. Upon reaching Har ki Dun, you can enjoy views of the snow-covered peaks, including Swargarhponi, Hata Top, and Black Peak. After spending some time there, you will head back to Kalkattiyadhar.
On Day 5, you will trek back to Pauni Garaat from Kalkattiyadhar via Osla. The journey will take around 5 hours and covers 8 km. Enjoy the beauty of nature as you make your way back. At the camp, you can enjoy an outdoor fire and relax with your fellow trekkers.
On Day 6, you will trek back to Sankri Village from Pauni Garaat via Taluka. This descent is easier but should still be done cautiously. Enjoy the familiar scenery on the way back, and take time to reflect on your journey. The night will be spent at the guest house in Sankri.
On the final day, you'll head back to Dehradun from Sankri. The 7-hour drive will take you through beautiful valleys and scenic landscapes. Take one last look at the majestic mountains as you travel back.
